Kerstin Gardey is the founder and principal designer of Atelier Gardey. Her connection to interiors began early, shaped by moving often throughout childhood and becoming captivated by the way spaces, objects, and atmosphere could recreate the feeling of home again and again.
Drawn to the quieter details of how people live, she spent years immersed in job sites, construction, sourcing, and the day-to-day rhythm of residential design before eventually taking the leap to establish her own studio. Today, her work is defined by a restrained, layered approach—balancing warmth, texture, and lived-in ease with an edited perspective that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
When she’s not on-site or refining floor plans, you’ll likely find her sourcing vintage pieces, documenting everyday moments on her Fujifilm, or gathering inspiration while traveling between California and Europe.
